The 1770 Glasgow Distillery, named after the year the original Glasgow Distillery was founded, was established in 2014 by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward, and Ian McDougall. Aiming to revive Glasgow's rich whisky-making history, it is the city's first new distillery in over a century. The distillery combines traditional craftsmanship with modern technology to create a unique and characterful single malt whisky.

The 1770 Glasgow 2018/2023 - 5 Years Cognac Cask Finish Small Batch Series Single Malt Whisky is a special highlight from 1770 Glasgow. This whisky was initially matured in 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Casks and then received a finish in high-quality French Cognac casks.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Upon opening the bottle, an enticing bouquet of ripe fruits unfolds, particularly apricots and peaches, coupled with a hint of vanilla and toasted oak. A subtle touch of spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg completes the aroma.

Taste: On the palate, the whisky presents itself as velvety soft and full-bodied. The fruity notes of apricots and peaches are also present here and are accompanied by a pleasant sweetness reminiscent of honey and caramel. The Cognac casks give the whisky additional depth and complexity, with hints of dried fruits and a touch of oak.

Finish: The finish is long-lasting and warming, with a perfect balance between sweetness and spice. The fruitiness slowly fades, giving way to a hint of vanilla and oak. A slightly peppery aftertaste completes the taste experience and invites another sip.
