Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach – 100% Oloroso Quarter Cask No. 1 of 2

The Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach is a limited special bottling from the young Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay. The edition consists of two pure sherry full-maturations, with this bottling having matured entirely in Oloroso Quarter Casks. The smaller cask sizes lead to a particularly intense exchange between whisky and wood, which gives this single malt a distinct depth and aromatic richness. It is bottled at 50% vol., naturally without chill-filtration and without added coloring.


Nose: Dark chocolate, orange peel, cherry, and subtle notes of bonfire ash.

Palate: Full-bodied and spicy with roasted walnuts, fruitcake, nutmeg, and a gentle sherry sweetness.

Finish: Long, warm, and balanced with hints of leather and a subtle, typical Islay-style smoke.

Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach 100% PX Quarter Cask No. 2 of 2

The Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach 100% PX Quarter Cask is the second half of an exclusive sherry twin created by the young Islay distillery Ardnahoe. While the sister bottling matured in Oloroso casks, this edition was aged entirely in Pedro Ximénez quarter casks. The smaller cask sizes ensure particularly intense maturation, allowing the whisky to develop lush sweetness and deep fruit aromas. It is bottled at 50% ABV, without chill filtration and without added coloring.


Nose: Ripe dark fruits, raspberries, stewed plums, candied orange peel, and a light maritime peat note.

Taste: Full-bodied and sweet with sultanas, figs, sherry syrup, cinnamon, and soft spice.

Finish: Long, fruit-forward, and warming with a fine wisp of smoke and lingering sherry sweetness.
