The Westland Distillery is located in Seattle, Washington, USA. They deliberately chose not to produce Bourbon, but rather to focus on the American Single Malt Whiskey category. They founded and lead the ASMW Commission, which currently includes 110 distilleries. Since its founding in January 2010, the distillery has placed the highest value on quality. Each single malt is made from 100% malted barley. The distillate is distilled to a maximum of 80% vol. Only barrels with a maximum capacity of 700 liters are used for maturation.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Rich with notes of caramel, vanilla and oak, accompanied by a hint of roasted aromas and spices.
Taste: Full-bodied with sweet aromas of malt, honey and vanilla. This is joined by hints of nuts, cocoa and light fruit notes.
Finish: Long and smooth, with a pleasant warmth accompanied by oak and light spices.
