The Bushmills 11-year-old from the Causeway Collection is a single malt Irish whiskey that honors the legend of the giant Fionn McCumhail and the natural wonder of the Giant's Causeway in Northern Ireland. This limited 2022 bottling was distilled in 2011 and combines traditional maturation methods with an innovative finish in rare Banyuls casks. With an alcohol content of 46% vol and without chill filtration, the whiskey remains as authentic as possible.
Bushmills Distillery, founded in 1608, is one of the oldest and most famous whiskey distilleries in the world. It is located in County Antrim on the north coast of Northern Ireland and is known for its traditional production methods and its high-quality single malts and blends. The Causeway Collection continues this tradition and combines it with modern influences.
The Causeway Collection is dedicated to the Giant's Causeway, an impressive natural wonder of basalt columns near the Bushmills Distillery. This geological formation, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, inspires the series and symbolizes the connection between nature and craftsmanship.
The whiskey first matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks before receiving an exclusive finish in Banyuls casks – a French sweet wine that imparts notes of baked peaches, vanilla, honey, and dark berries to the whiskey. This special maturation gives it a unique complexity and depth.
