The Arran Quarter Cask The Bothy is an impressive cask-strength bottling that revives the tradition of the small quarter casks of the 18th and 19th centuries.

These casks were formerly used for easy transport and smuggling, as their smaller volume allowed for faster maturation of the whisky.

The single malt initially matures for seven years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak and then receives a two-year finish in small 125-liter quarter casks.

The intensive contact between whisky and wood creates a particularly complex and aromatic character. Bottled at a robust 56.2% vol and without chill-filtration, this whisky embodies the pure essence of the Arran distillery.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Zesty citrus fruits like lemons and sun-ripened oranges, subtle spice notes of cinnamon, allspice, and vanilla, and woody undertones, accompanied by coconut, burnt sugar, and floral nuances.

Taste: Full-bodied and powerful on the palate, sweet hints of honey, vanilla, and red apples, and tropical notes of pineapple and coconut provide a fruity touch.

Finish: Medium-long and spicy, with a pleasant warmth and floral notes with fresh citrus aromas accompanying the finish.
