The Ardbeg Distillery, located on the Scottish island of Islay, is known for its smoky and intense single malts. Since 1815, Ardbeg has stood for artisanal perfection and whiskies with unique character.
The Corryvreckan, named after the famous whirlpool of the same name off the coast of Islay, reflects this wildness and depth, offering an unparalleled taste experience.
This exceptional whisky matures in a combination of American oak barrels and rare French oak barrels. This special barrel selection ensures a complex blend of powerful aromas and velvety textures.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: An intense scent of tar, dark chocolate, and blackberries, interwoven with smoky notes and spicy black pepper. Hints of cherries and a touch of pine needles provide freshness.
Taste: On the palate, powerful smoke and spice notes dominate, accompanied by rich fruitiness. Blackcurrants, nutmeg, and cloves combine with hints of sea salt and dark toffee.
Finish: The finish is long, intense, and spicy with a distinct peppery note, smoky tar, and a slight oak spice that lingers long.
